WORK EXPERIENCE
| Employer: | CHIL |
| Position: | Chief Technical Officer |
| Time period: | December 2004 - Present |
| Description: | CHIL is a small company created to develop and exploit a novel bulk data processing platform conceived by the founder. Initially I played a key role in the delivery of a major project to mobile operator Orange, and subsequently took over ownership of the product roadmap and technical strategy. I manage the work of our platform development team in Ukraine as well as the application development team in the UK. My achievements at CHIL include:
• Project managed integration, test and final delivery of the “Tariff Review Service” to Orange, a project worth £450k over 4 years. • Managed strategic £200k/year platform development program, additionally providing technical leadership for core features. • Implemented process improvements to increase transparency and accountability, leading to predictable development cycles and more reliable software. • Managed development of outsourced solution for data acquisition from paper bills. I have been invited to join the board of directors, and in the interim I participate in both board and management meetings, along with our Sales and Marketing director and the CEO. |

| Position: | Director |
| Time period: | December 2004 - November 2008 |
| Description: | I was a shareholder and director of DeliveredSafe Ltd, a start-up company in the area of

| Position: | Senior Consultant |
| Time period: | December 1999 - November 2005 |
| Description: | Scientific Generics (now Sagentia) is a technology consultancy, specialising in innovative
problem solving and the generation of intellectual property. My work at SG covered the full project lifecycle and I was active in the production of marketing materials, meeting prospects with the sales team and writing proposals as well as in project delivery. My project work ranged from deeply technical implementation through project management to strategic consulting and due diligence. My achievements at SG included: • Managed a successful £100k project to develop and deliver of a live prototype micropayment system for a global mobile network operator. • Managed £150k feasibility study and prototyping project for a startup in the area of credit card transaction security, enabling them to demonstrate a fully functional system to potential investors. • Lead a “Terminal Platform Strategy” project for the Global Products and Services division of a major mobile network, ultimately reporting to their corporate board. • Managed the development and delivery of new product authentication intellectual property for a global brewer, enhancing their brand promotion capability. • Turnkey software and electronics development and technology management for Flying Null, a SG spin-out operating under an in-house incubation program. • Managed investigative work worth £50k on the use of new imaging and illumination technologies in endoscopy, and produced of a proof-of-concept demonstrator. • Lead internal program to develop .NET capability and position SG as a leader in this field as the technology emerged into the market. I greatly enjoyed the variety of challenging work that was available working in a consultancy environment, and I particularly enjoyed working with start-up companies. I left in order to return to Edinburgh. |

VLSI Vision was one of Scotland’s technology success stories, and I was inspired by the innovative nature of the organisation. When I left, it was to broaden my horizons beyond device driver development. |
