Iakov Kogan is a scientist and entrepreneur with advanced expertise in electrochemistry, material science and photochemistry. He was among the first to investigate electrochemical solar cells, and to perform extensive studies of conducting polymers. Dr. Kogan has extended experience in electrochemical supercapacitors, electrochromic windows, electrochemical solar cells, flexible electroluminescent lamps, and photoluminescent pressure sensors. His recent activities have resulted in advanced solutions for zinc-air batteries and a new type of a hydrogen-on-demand system. Dr. Kogan has published 30 research articles, granted 12 patents and holds 5 patent applications pending. He was awarded a PhD in physical chemistry from the Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics. He was also granted the position of a Visiting Professor by the Institute for Molecular Science, Japan and the position of a Postdoctoral Research Scientist by the University of Toronto. Dr. Kogan’s business background comes from Sheridan College where he specialized in advanced accounting, corporate taxation, business law and entrepreneurship.
