Farshad Fahimi received his degree from University of Science and Technology (Iran) in Control and Systems and Robotics. His final projects was under supervision of Dr. Shahri where he was introduced to the world of Instrumentation and applying the techniques to Mobile Robot Navigation. Currently Farshad is enrolled as a PhD candidate at the Institute of Industrial Research at University of Portsmouth , UK. His research interests include: Anomaly Detection in Image Sequences Containing Human Motion and Fusion of Features from Multiple Cameras. Besides academics, he has interest in applying Artificial Intelligene in Finance and business.

| Description: | - I am currently undertaking a PhD. in Image processing and Artificial Intelligence. My research is a part of a bigger project on human activity recognition and anomaly detection. I worked mainly on segmentation and feature extraction, the first two stages of the project. The pattern recognition is carried out using the FQT (Fuzzy Qualitative Trigonometrics) proposed initially by my supervisor Dr. Honghai Liu.
Dr. David Brown, my director of studies has been of great help in moving this project forward. - One semester teaching assistant in neural networks for gaming application course. - Publications: kes2008, ukci2006, springer journal. - Several talks given in IIR, Creative Technologies Live Broadcase/Podcast, University of Portsmouth as well as IFSEC2008 (London), and several smaller security related gatherings. |
