Mr. Almeida has over 12 years experience in the information technology and telecom industries. Edison started his career designing cellular networks for wireless carriers at Motorola. In 2000 Edison joined inCode Wireless, a leader in strategy, integration, and engineering consulting for the wireless industry. As a consultant for five years, Edison earned the trust and respect of customers in short periods of time by excelling in professionalism and by delivering results.
After completing his MBA at Babson College, Edison took on the role of Enterprise Sales Director for VeriSign. He was responsible for developing corporate relationships, strategizing account planning, leading proposal and pursuit teams, identifying business opportunities, and closing sales contracts. Edison’s role included sales of professional services, Internet security services, digital content delivery, and online brand management services. Edison excelled in sales of several technology solutions to a wide-range of Fortune-500 customers in more than ten different industries. Edison had sold more than $2.0 million in new bookings across all VeriSign service platforms by end of 2007.
In 2009 Edison founded Skynja, a startup that enables unprecedented electricity management by the mainstream market, merging environment-conscious lifestyle with energy efficiency and social media to lead electricity awareness for sustainability.
Edison has volunteered for the National Society of Hispanic MBAs since 2007. As Vice President of Corporate Relations and Sponsorship for NSHMBA Washington DC Chapter, Edison planned and implemented chapter sponsorship strategy. Edison was responsible for developing long-term relationships with corporate partners and sponsors. Currently Edison is a board member of NSHMBA Boston chapter. The main driver for Edison's work with NSHMBA is the visionary mission of "...fostering leadership through graduate management education and professional development in order to improve society."
Edison earned his MBA at Babson College with a concentration in entrepreneurship. He also holds a BSEE degree from the University of Sao Paulo Polytechnic School, Brazil. At Babson College, Edison was the Director of the Babson Latin Forum and the Babson Technology Venture Group.
