The SDN manages data for Fortune 50 media and global enterprise customers, meeting the scalability demands for storing and delivering billions of files to millions of users.
Vice President of Product Management - Recruited by CEO prior to incorporation or VC funding to lead the original implementation of the SDN service, taking alpha-stage components and delivering a solid, production-ready platform to market. Led engineering efforts as “Product Owner” in Scrum/Agile process, from initial shaping of the web services API to the rollout of storage nodes around the globe. SDN won “Storage Product of the Year” award in 2007 (B&S). - Led Marketing Communication functions from inception through launch of company and service. Developed the original website design and its content, key messaging, and white papers. Selected and worked with PR agency to secure exceptional analyst/press coverage and endorsements. - Delivered CloudNAS product to market, from strategic vision of seamlessly integrating cloud storage into existing enterprise processes and infrastructure. CloudNAS transformed our sales cycle from a development effort that could take weeks to having our customers get instant access to the SDN. CloudNAS earned nomination for “Product of the Year” in 2009 (SM). - In Q2/2008, served as VP of Business Development, developing key alliances and OEM relationships including: CDNetworks, Atempo, Arkeia, and 3Tera. These channels significantly increased pipeline and revenue inside of two quarters. - Assisted in securing funds from world-class investors including Intel Capital, European Founders Fund, Mission Ventures, and Valhalla Partners. |

Expanded our portfolio with Solutions that combined our products with best-of-breed applications from Riverbed Technology, FalconStor Software, and StoreAge Networking Technologies. - Launched the Remote Office Consolidation (ROC) solution, one of McDATA’s most successful initiatives. With Inbound, Outbound, and Partnership responsibility for the group, added net-new revenue to the business (ramp at $3M in 3rd qtr). - Key participant in planning and execution of the $235M acquisition of CNT. This transaction accelerated expansion of the product portfolio and incorporation of professional services to increase account control through a closer relationship with end-users. - Managed the Application Services Module (ASM). Transformed a weak product plan into the cornerstone of McDATA’s roadmap through the lifecycle process and secured release with largest OEM. Restructured ASIC supplier contract to avoid commoditization. |
