1. Position: Worked as main investigator in the project done in Jharkhand State. 2. Key Responsibilities: To study the environmental and health impact due to coal mining in East Parej and North Karanpura Coalfield of Jharkhand State of India. To create health awareness by organising small camps among the villagers especially among the tribal womens. To organise press conference and give reports of the project to the Jharkhand government and concerned organisations. For Australian National University worked on social and environmental impact due to stone mining around Ranchi city. 3. Key Achievements: Survey and research was submitted to the concerned organisation of the Jharkhand Government i.e. State Pollution control Board. Report was also circulated to the press and the other NGOs worldwide. Villagers were made aware of the source of the problem and how to minimize it. |
