Claude Florin is Marketing Manager at HP’s Communications and media solutions. He leads HP’s emerging applications development for telecom service providers worldwide . Some areas of focus include : design of multimedia user experiences, end-user segmentation and analysis and service delivery. He has been involved in delivering solutions for mobile and broadband video, VoIP and group communications using smartphones or PCs.
Florin joined HP in 1982. In 1995 Florin was R&D Manager for HP’s corporate development Europe and represented HP in 7 European Commission ITC research programs. In 1997 he became solution manager for service management solutions based on the HP’s network management platform and participated in the deployment some early GSM networks. In 1999 he was launched HP’s service provider solutions, focusing on convergent voice and data networks. He contributed to some of the world’s major deployments of VoIP such as Orange Business Services Voice over IP VPN, Fastweb’s quadruple play service. In 2001 he lead the launch of voice and video applications for messaging and entertainment with deployments at major operators such as AIS, DoCoMo, Rogers, SFR, Telefonica, T-Mobile, Vodafone. Earlier. he launched HP’s medical imaging software solutions and was business development manager for Healthcare Information Systems.
He started his career by founding AsOne music companies audiences over 50’000 in Switzerland and a technology publishing venture. He worked in TV production at Videowest in San Francisco.

Description: Launched WW mobile video technology with messaging, personal communications and entertainment solutions. Helped recruit and establish a team of specialists in each region.
Launched in EMEA HP’s voice software technology resulting in installations at Orange, Telefonica, Vodafone. Managed 5 EMEA professionals with an extended field team.
Coordinated solution development partnerships for go-to-market in voice/video messaging, interactive applications.
