technology. • Awarded MBA with Distinction. Overall grade average of 75% • Dissertation undertaken at IceRobotics conducting broad strategic review. |
| Employer: | Heriot‐Watt University |
| Position: | Research Engineer |
| Time period: | December 2003 - August 2006 |
| Description: | A collaborative project between Heriot‐Watt University, QinetiQ and the Home Office, that developed weapon and explosive detection software using non‐visual sensors for use in airport security. The development involved novel computer vision algorithms implemented on a real‐time Linux platform. Mathematical techniques included advanced multi‐target tracking filters, robust parameter estimation and algorithm optimisation for real‐time applications.
• Project managed technical work including integration work across multiple organisations. • Co‐authored technical proposals and feasibility study as part of a bid to develop project for full scale use in airports. • Maintained business contacts with project partners throughout the lifecycle. • Designed and implemented key technical work, including image reconstruction, multi‐target tracking filters and 3D model fitting for subject acquisition. • Recruited and managed Software Engineers and supervised students. |
