FULL BIO
Chris began his commercial real estate career in 1985 with one of the nation’s most prominent commercial real estate development companies, Duke Realty Corporation. While with Duke, Chris’ responsibilities included office and industrial property leasing, eventually serving as Vice President of Duke Realty Corporation’s Indiana Office Group.
In 1993, Chris founded CARMEN Commercial Real Estate Services to fill a void in the Indianapolis marketplace. Chris’ vision was to create a firm that specialized in representing the interests of Tenants, free from the conflicts of interest often associated with traditional real estate brokerages. Since 1993, CARMEN Commercial has represented more than 300 businesses.
While developing CARMEN’s “client centric” business model, Chris expanded the firm’s capabilities by developing strategic relationships with some of the industry’s best providers of design, office relocation / project management, Lease management, and State & Local Government incentive procurement. Today, CARMEN Commercial Real Estate Services continues as one of Indiana’s most prolific and respected real estate brokerage firms.
Chris has authored two books on the subject of facility relocation and commercial lease negotiation: The Office Relocation Planner and How to Search and Negotiate Office Leases, marketed through a publishing company he co-founded and then sold in 2001. Additionally, Chris has authored articles on the subject of commercial real estate for the Indiana Economic Development Corporation’s annual magazine and other publications.
Chris is a native of Chicago and attended the University of Illinois and Elmhurst College, where he graduated with degrees in Finance and Business Administration.
