Carl Barrelet

Carl is an associate with Lux Capital, focusing on investments in energy, material science and chemistry. Before joining Lux, Carl graduated with a B.Sc. degree in physics from Stanford University, where he was awarded the Deans’ Award for Academic Achievement. A scholarship allowed Carl to do research in atomic physics at Ecole Normale Superieure in the team of Nobel laureate Claude Cohen-Tannoudji. He then pursued graduate school at Harvard University, focusing on nanotechnology, semiconductors and photonics under the guidance of Professor Charles M. Lieber. Having published fourteen peer-reviewed publications, Carl received a Ph.D. in chemical physics. He presented his work at the National Meetings of the American Chemical Society and the Material Research Society. Carl is also a journal reviewer for Nano Letters, Optics Letter, Optics Express and Applied Physics Letters.
