| Position: | Commercial Leader – Technical |
| Time period: | March 2004 - March 2008 |
| Description: | Highlights:
• Commercial Leader for CPL/PPL (regional local currency product re-pricing project) for Asia Pacific including coordination of regional database, conducting training for regional Commercial Leaders and reporting directly to global leadership team • Cross Business Lead Sharing leader for Water in ANZ (2007-2008) • Training on MBR and UF design in Toronto, Canada • Training on EDR and EDI in Boston, USA • Introduction to and training with Global Product Management teams (2006 & 2007) • Selected for Foundations of Leadership training course 2007 • Put forward for International FRP 2008 (first person from GE Water to be proposed) • Rookie of the year ANZ (2004) After graduating I built a reputation for consistency, commitment, reliability and dedication with GE. In 2006 I was promoted to the business development team as Commercial Leader – Chemicals for Victoria after excelling in my early role. I was again promoted in 2006 to Commercial Leader – Indirect Equipment and Consumables for Australia managing over 50 accounts and a vast range of products. The demanding technical nature of these roles repeatedly challenged and I experienced successes rising to each. Predominantly a sales engineering role, training courses in many forms of water treatment provided a solid foundation for solving immediate and medium term water treatment challenges for industry. Exhibition of technical competence via quarterly reviews and proposal presentations to customer management teams led to development of strong customer relationships throughout this period. Working in a results’ driven environment such as GE forced me to excel outside my comfort zones. I have enjoyed success in small to medium projects; from assisting in the design and commissioning of chemical dosing skids to driving a multimillion-dollar wastewater reuse project. I have been involved in training operators on industrial sites with regards to water treatment, Legionella, chemical handling and risk management as well as training internal sales teams on equipment applications and limitations. Other experience: developing new business, responding to tenders, technological support, pricing, sourcing, import quotes and scheduling, overall process design, tracking orders, pilot plant assistance, unit selection, water chemistry analysis, antiscalant dosing calculations, pump & dosing line repairs, presentations to management (internal and external) |
