Description: A part of diverse research projects both as a volunteer, and research assistant in the department of Neurology, where my duties include data extraction from pubmed, protocol buildup, making questionnaire, ERC clearance, acquiring data from past medical records, piloting, data review, article writing, reference managements, and a role as a project coordinator.

Employer: Civil Hospital, Karachi
Position: Clinical Rotations
Description: Since third year, I have been actively participating and employing my learning at the clinics and wards. From strong History taking skills to thorough Physical examination, it’s been an amazing route of practical understanding for the last three years. Have done all the required rotations, as seen in my Clinical transcript, with exceptionally impressive grades.

Position: Internship
Time period: July 2007 - July 2008
Description: Since 15th August 2007 till 15th August 2008, participated in an intensive internship program at the 1700plus bedded Civil Hospital Karachi. Departments rotated included Internal Medicine, Neurology, General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. My job as a House Officer included everything from OPDs, emergency care, patient management in ICU, wards and theatres, administrative management, case presentations, journal club presentations, teaching, etc.

Description: Have been a part of Patients Welfare Association (a voluntary students organization), since early medical days. The managerial and administrative role as a Senior Director at PWA’s Blood Bank has been one of the most adventurous phase of my career.

Employer: Moorefields Eye Hospital, London
Position: Work experience
Time period: November 2005
Description: Worked under the expertise of Consultants and Snr. Registrars, learning both at the out patient department and theatres. Not only was I able to learn the clinical diagnosis and management (both conservative and surgical) of ocular diseases; I also gained experience at the Eye bank and practically learnt how the cornea is taken from the morgue to the theatre for transplantation.

INFORMATION

Hobbies: I am a regular swimmer, with cricket, squash and soccer as my outdoor hobbies.
I am an ardent fan of collecting stamps, listening to Pakistani and English music, and watching English movies.
Memberships: I am also a member of a health club, apart of being involved in social and welfare clubs and organizations like PWA, Dianetics Centre.
