FULL BIO

Anand joined Microsoft in January 2005 as a Developer Evangelist, Microsoft's .NET ambassador to the Northern California region. During his tenure there, he has been in the midst of several launches, such as Visual Studio, SQL Server, Vista, Office and many others. He has spoken at over a hundred conferences on a variety of topics. Anand is actively involved in the startup community in the Silicon Valley and works closely with Microsoft's Emerging Business Team. Before joining Microsoft, Anand worked for Cisco Systems' New Business Ventures team, pioneering XML-based manageability solutions. During his five-year tenure as a Technical Lead and Software Engineer, Anand worked closely with customers to fine-tune his product features. Anand has extensive experience software methodologies, and has worked on several development platforms, including Linux and Unix. He is fluent in C, C++, Java, and PERL. Anand has also earned two patent awards related to manageability solutions on networking platforms. Anand graduated from Purdue University (Go Boilers!) with a degree in Computer Engineering.

Description: • Developed and executed strategies to communicate and liaise with the technical community in the Silicon Valley
• Developed strategies to provide better access to Microsoft’s platform and tools to micro-ISVs and early-stage startups
• Reached over 130,000 software developers through live events, webcasts and media in order to drive Microsoft’s customer satisfaction and knowledge of Microsoft’s products
• Delivered over 150 high-impact quality presentations at large scale events such as DevConnections, VSLive, Oracle Open World, JavaOne etc., increasing year-over-year customer satisfaction by 13%
• Led a nationwide strategy to grow Microsoft’s Developer Tools and Web Server businesses by creating proactive speaking engagements to competitive influencers, developers and web hosters
• Managed Vista, Office 2007, Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 launch activities for the Silicon Valley
• Developed an online persona to associate a human face to Microsoft in the Valley
