Whilst studying for a degree in business and computing, I developed a fascination with emerging mobile technologies and realised an opportunity to create Total Hotspots - an independent global service that helps people find Wi-Fi hotspots in over 100 countries. An experienced team includes successful digital entrepreneurs with past lives at Microsoft, IPG and PWC.
Regular updates from a number of leading international service providers, community projects, venue owners are combined with locations recommended by the community. The focus is upon listing quality legitimate hotspot locations and enabling the community to quickly find hotspots, free and paid, and share their experiences via the web and mobile.
Insights includes launching an SMS-based hotspot locator services in 2004 and a mobile business development role at Multimap whilst they were bought by Microsoft.
In November 2008, Total Hotspots partnered with Rummble, the location based social search and discovery service. Two months later Total Hotspots for iPhone launched.
Goals for the second half of 2009 include launching apps across all major mobile platforms and developing innovative new ways to connect whilst mobile; in partnership with leading service providers, software and hardware vendors.
