Development activities included tops down evaluation of various business opportunities, bottoms up development of a select high potential concepts, and selection of the GreenPrimate building energy conservation model for development.
• Currently involved in startup early phase development including: detailed technical development, team-building, and negotiations with service providers. Activities require minimal time devotion for next 3-4 months as software development is now ongoing by contractors.

Sample Project experiences include:
• Led a team that provided a quick dashboard to an independent deepwater equipment manufacturer regarding strategic implications of GE’s purchase of Vetco Gray. Team charted prior G entry by purchase into new industries, and subsequent behavior, analyzed GE’s current energy portfolio and implications for competitive positioning, and impacts on client.
• Led an assessment of the U.S. wide electric transmission system in order to identify investment opportunities for a client. Evaluated potential new sources of remote generation, role of channel players mediating investment and emerging business models arising from structural and legal changes. Client adopted recommendations, and created a new business development group to purse opportunities in transmission investment
• Led a team that developed synergies occurring from the potential merger of two Southeastern utilities. Team developed detailed cost baselines for independent entities, and savings in combined entity from operations, procurement and shared services. Team developed analyses shareholder and customer share of savings, and provided 10-year cash flow implications into deal valuation
• Provided due diligence for a private equity investor regarding proposed acquisition of a supplier of nuclear energy components. Team conducted extensive expert, customer and user interviews, on which basis future industry sales and target company market shares were developed as input into client valuation models. Recommended against acquisition, saving client an estimated $150 million in present value differential between intrinsic value and projected price of the target
• Led an assessment of “new energy” business opportunities in the U.S. for a multinational oil& gas company. Assessment included new businesses, like IGCC, coal bed methane, polygeneration, and carbon sequestration, as well as the potential policy environment and implications for business portfolio performance, including cap and trade, and carbon-tax.

• Developed a detailed business model that estimated customer segment cost to serve and profitably for the U.S. gas supply and trading operations of a large integrated exploration and production company

Description: Performed engineering and business management duties for a small company out of Metaire, LA, that aggressively invested in engineering and construction in west Africa oilfields between 1994 and 1999.
• Engineered oil & gas process and mechanical items to deliver operable, safe and code compliant facilities for major oil & gas producers. Developed engineering, construction and installation project resource and cost estimates, and time schedules. Competitive estimates developed achieved a 12% incremental win rate over company mixed market share of projects over a 1 year period.
