ABOUT US

The Yoshiyama Young Entrepreneurs Program aims to discover inspiring entrepreneurs operating businesses in the United States that are both financially viable and create opportunities for low-wealth individuals in America to enhance their economic security. Through this program, The Hitachi Foundation plans to continue its quest in identifying and expanding business practices that create tangible opportunities for people in America to move out of poverty.

The Foundation will provide a cash prize of up to $50,000 over two years and access to technical resources to the up to 6 young entrepreneurs selected for the Yoshiyama Program.

If…
- You are at least 18 years old;
- You were 29 or younger when you launched your business;
- Your business is 1-5 years old and has been generating revenue for a minimum of the past 12 months;
- You established your business with the expressed dual purpose of operating a successful business and creating opportunities for low-wealth individuals in America to enhance their economic security; and
- Your business, whether a for-profit or non-profit, depends primarily on an earned income revenue model.

The deadline for the first application round is Monday, March 22, 11:59pm PDT. Applicants MUST submit the APPLICATION FORM found with the SUBMISSION GUIDELINES. This APPLICATION FORM starts on page 3 of the Submission Guidelines document and is the only form that will be recognized in the judging process.
