  • 1. Freshers' Week

Firstly thanks to all of you for signing up during fresher's week, I know we heckled you, bribed you with sweets and literally forced some of you to sign up, but we promise you that you will get good value for your €2 during the year!

We increased membership this year by 100 on last year and now have 352 members, which is a great achievement. We have plenty of events planned for the year but I want to keep this email short so stay tuned for a later email.

  • 2. Younoodle.com community

Thanks to Evin Hipple former chair of TES who has helped get us our online community on younoodle.com. This is a site, which is designed for the best 50 student entrepreneurial clubs and societies in the world to host their online community. This site will help members of the society, as well as alumni keep in touch and collaborate. Invitations to join will be sent out soon.

  • 3. Speed Networking in the Atrium this Wednesday at 2.45pm

This is our first event of the year and we’d encourage as many of you to attend as possible for what promises to be an extremely exciting and fun event – 'speed networking'.

Our society has been selected by Global Entrepreneurship week to host the penultimate leg of the global speed networking tour. The event is aimed at entrepreneurs, academics, students and all members of the business community. The speed networking tour is designed to unleash energy, share ideas and make connections – fast.
The global speed networking tour has visited over 6 continents in the past 3 weeks including places such as Hong Kong, Mexico City, Toronto, Johannesburg, Botswana, Singapore, Santiago, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney and San Francisco. You can find out more at http://www.unleashingideas.org/speednetwork

The event will be hosted by Oli Barrett http://www.olibarrett.co.uk an expert speed networker who has travelled around the world in the past few weeks.

We can think of no better way to begin the academic year than with this event, and we would be delighted if you could attend. The event is scheduled to take place at the Atrium at 2.45pm. Please forward this to any friends or colleagues who may be interested in attending.

    P. S. The raffle for the free iPod will take place on Wednesday!

    Yours sincerely,
