    Hi All,

    Hope eveyone had a good break. We've got a few treats for you in store this term with the higlight of it been our Dragon's Den competition! Next week also sees us hosting the event "Starting an Online Business". For more information on these events keep reading!

  • 2. Dragons' Den 2010 - 3 pages, 3 minutes, €3,000

    About The Competition
    Dragons’ Den 2010 is a fantastic opportunity for students across all faculties to test out their ideas for a new business venture. Entrants will compete against the best students in Trinity for a chance to seize some of the €3,000 prize fund kindly sponsored by Tata Consultancy Services.

    The Prizes
    1. €2,000 for the winning entry
    2. €750 for the first runner up
    3. €250 for the best green/environmental/sustainable submission

    The 3-Page Business Plan
    For the first round, students must propose a new commercially viable product or service in the form of a 3 page business plan. This should be emailed to entrepren @ csc.tcd.ie before midnight of Friday February 12th.

    The Pitch
    Entrants with the best business plans will be carefully chosen, by the judges, to pitch their ideas in the Dragon’s Den final to a full lecture theatre.

    Competition Rules
    - Each entry must comprise of 2009/2010 registered Trinity College Dublin students.
    - The competition is open to all faculties.
    - Students may enter as individuals or on a team-basis (cross-functional teams are encouraged) with a maximum of 4 students per team.
    - Each entry must have a declaration stating that the content has been originally created by the person(s) on the team. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in expulsion from the competition.
    - The judges’ decision is final.
    - Entries are not limited to any specific business sector and diversity is strongly encouraged.
    - Any entry can only win one prize.
    - Entries will be judged upon the criteria set out below.

    Judging Criteria
    - Market feasibility of the idea
    - Originality
    - Delivery (business plan and pitch)

  • 3. Starting An Online Business

    Trinity Entrepreneurial Society is proud to welcome Peter Connor of Green Apple Media and Tom Farrell of Paddy Power in a one hour session on “Starting an Online Business”. The event will take place this Wednesday, 27th January at 7PM in room 4050B Arts Block.
