ABOUT US

In times of "Wall Street-gate" induced global financial crisis as now (from 2008-2009), circa-21 or the early-21st Century, when newspapers in the US and EU are merging, downsizing if they are not closing shop, young social entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia dare to publish an independent "real newspaper" startup that will synergize the indigenous and popular technology of the traditional media with web 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and next ICT platforms.

Called theBUSINESS Paper, the occasional broadsheet newspaper from Manila, The Philippines, envisioned to eventually become a monthly to a fortnightly to a weekly and to a daily of form, substance and style, caters to microbusiness, small and medium enterprises, startups and other entrepreneurships, including but not limited to the socalled "underground economists (micros that opt to become legal, moral and big, in no time at all)."

theBUSINESS Paper is based in Manila, the East meets West "melting-pot epicenter" of the Southeast Asia (SEA) region comprised by 10 countries, and more, if the Gs are added-on. The youth of Asia is more entrepreneurial than their elders; Asian youths have a more proactive worldview than do their folks, according to a study.

In venturing to redefine the true meaning of genuine entrepreneurship, the BUSINESS Paper will host a "meeting of the minds," an "awards-giving that you need not buy nor lobby" for the most-admired enterprises and entrepreneurs, and other special media events for those who work hard for the success of their startups, and not because of inheritance, marriage or (worse!) "crime," and related "luck" or "chance.”

If business is purely for profit, theBUSINESS Paper "reimagines" genuine entrepreneurship as "sound business sense with smart social conscience."

theBUSINESS Paper founders ventured a definition that "employees are also entrepreneurs," when, for example, a teacher toils to put up his own school, a nurse works to set up her own clinic or hospital, a construction worker would own a building later on, and so on. The founders' mentors even thought that by affording yourself a college education, your first bricks into the big business of your own are being layed down and you become under way to the achievement of your hopes, dreams and aspirations.

theBUSINESS Paper: Manila, your new group on the YouNoodle block, has a potential membership strength of from one million to 100 million entrepreneurs worldwide. The Philippines has a population of 80 million in the Philippine homeland. Nielsen reported, 10 million of the 80 million are internet-savvy. Facebook added, 200,000 Filipinos are in their social network. Another 10 million Filipinos are in more than 100 countries across the globe. They form part of the affluent Filipino communities abroad who plough back to the Philippine homeland an average US$15 billion foreign exchange remittances to their loved ones annually. In the US alone, there are an average three million Filipino Americans, some one million of whom are in California. The 10 million overseas Filipino professionals and workers retain from 10 to 100 foreign national friends each person, totaling 100 million-strong when compounded. And that is why theBUSINESS Paper: Manila can rock with YouNoodle! BE ONE WITH US. BE ONE OF US. BECOME US.
