  • 1. Welcome!

We are excited to kick off the SV Factor Competition with over 200 registered students from Denmark and Stanford University. By now, everyone has submitted 5 startup companies that they believe to be the next big thing...

In the coming weeks, you will be receiving newsletters with Tips of the Week, Entrepreneur-Talk, and a Leaderboard. Tips will be posted to the competition group page as comments and compiled in newsletters. We will have some guest entries from knowledgeable Silicon Valley players, who will be sharing their expertise with you. The leaderboard will also be emailed out with the newsletter to keep you up to date on whose portfolio is performing the best.

The most important thing for you to do right now, though, is fill out the entry survey. You will not be qualified to win the competition without it! Go To SVF Survey

Eric Ries at Stanford University - September 30, 2009

"It's not that successful startup founders have better ideas than unsuccessful startup founders...What differentiates the successful startups from the unsuccessful startups is something we call the pivot. As we test those ideas against reality we discover a surprising truth that within every bad idea, is a kernel of a good idea waiting to come out."

His full ETL talk can be found here.
