    "Navigating Through Financial Turbulence"

In recent years, the Haas School of Business has produced top-tier research and a world class student body in finance. As the finance industry continues to grow and evolve, it is crucial to provide a much more structured and focused forum to exchange finance knowledge and ideas on best practices.

In 2007, we launched the inaugural Berkeley Finance Conference, the only conference of its kind on the West Coast. This event was a phenomenal success, bringing together practitioners, students, and academia to discuss and share ideas and trends.

The Berkeley Finance Conference 2008 will build upon last year’s strengths and accomplishments and will continue to explore current financial topics and challenges. Pertinent to the economic backdrop, the theme for this year’s conference is “Navigating Through Financial Turbulence.”

The panel discussions will include topics in Investment Management, Private Equity, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Venture Capital and Real Estate. These discussions will feature guests from companies including Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, GCA Savvian, Harris Wiliams, PIMCO, Chevron, Greyrock Capital, Yahoo, Paul Capital, Agilent, Fisher Investments, Fuller & Thaler, McKesson, Calera Capital, The Roda Group and Bank of America.

Please join us at Haas School of Business, U.C. Berkeley, for an invaluable examination of the current financial turmoil and a thorough outlook on the future of the industry.
