    SAE,

    First off, thanks to those of you who made it to our welcome night. We had a good showing with about 20 people in attendance. I hope it was informative for you.


    One of the new features that the COB is doing this year is to have weekly open hours for student organizations in BUS 137. We will have someone in BUS 137 Mondays from noon to 1pm every week this semester. We welcome you to stop by and pay a visit. This is an informal meeting time available to answer question on the SAE or anything related to E classes. We are looking to have at least two people there during this hour, if you are interested in helping to staff this let us know. It would be a great opportunity for you to sit with a SAE board member and find out intimate details about the SAE and how it operates, as well as meet officers and other people from some of the other organizations. If you are interested, dope us an email at saeship@sfsu.edu, or just show up to BUS 137 any Monday from noon to 1.

    Orientations

    The Student Leader Orientation schedule for spring semester is up on the OSPLD website at http://www.sfsu.edu/~ospld/org/orientation.htm. All presidents and financial officers/treasurers of student organizations must attend, or have attended in a previous semester, a Student Leader Orientation session during their time at San Francisco State. If you are looking to join the SAE Board, you may want to attend one of these soon.

    We want to hear from you!

    We have set up a Google Calendar many of you were invited to over the weekend. If you would like an invitation forwarded to you, please e-mail your information to saeship@sfsu.edu.

    The calendar is designed so that people can add their favorite meeting times. We will be using the calendar as a guide when we are setting up meetings and workshops in the future. We hope to hear from each and every one of you.

    -Put your name in "What"
    -Put the time you would like to meet in "When"

    -Click "Save"

  • 5. Financial Crisis: The Basics

    The financial crisis is something that future business owners should be following and discussing daily. Especially since all the current business owners are doing the same.

    We want SFSU future entrepreneurs to follow the news with a firm understanding of the basics, since a lack of fundamentals is what got us here in the first place.

    We offer you two videos, one 11 minute video about the theoretic mechanics of what went wrong in the system, and an hour long PBS Frontline documentary that covers the specifics of the actual institution failures. (long, but broken into chapters)
