ABOUT US
The Elevator Pitch Contest is a collaboration between the RU Chapter of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO), the Rowan University Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) and the faculty of the Entrepreneurship Program. The Elevator Pitch Contest simulates the experience of entrepreneurs seeking financial and other support for their startups.
The Rowan C.E.O. Elevator Pitch Competition involves students in a realistic entrepreneurial exercise and serves as a springboard for co-curricular activities. It also may be a stepping stone to help students to ”prime the pump” for future business plan competition entries.
Your idea may or may not be ready for launch. Presenting an idea does not require that you will pursue the creation of that particular company. The main goal is to educate students about how to develop and organize the presentation of a creative business idea or non-profit organization in writing and in a persuasive speech. The Pitch will tell your audience how you will run your business and turn it into a success!
Educational Goals for those who enter:
- To challenge your creativity and business acumen.
- To give students with business venture idea a chance to get feedback.
- To teach the art of pitching a business idea and enhance presentation skills.
For Winners of the Finals:
- A showcase for your talent and passion for Entrepreneurship
- Exposure to business leaders who may give support and coaching.
- A trip to Chicago for the top 3 winners to attend the CEO National Conference.
Those who apply directly to CEO to compete in Chicago, are eligible for additional cash prizes ranging from $500 - $2,500 awarded at the CEO Elevator Pitch Competition November 4-6, 2010.
We are grateful for the participation of the more than 150 Rowan University alumni who have said "YES" to invitations to judge pitch contests and business plan competitions over the last 5 years.

I major in Business Management at Rowan University. I also work at The Bank where I take care of customers' money. I enjoy trying to figure things out on my own and learn new ways of doing things. I'm very focused and goal-oriented.

I am pleased to participate as a judge and urge all students to view the most recent ted.com video on innovation featuring Steven Johnson. The video is entitled "Where GOOD Ideas Come From."
The contest closed to student entries on Thursday, September 16 at 6:30 p.m. Judging is not in progress and will continue for the next week through Sunday, September 26. Good luck to our student pitchers and happy reading to our judges.
