    Fundraiser for the next bar we green in San Francisco

    Join Green & Tonic as we raise seed money for a Carrotmob/350.org event! 100% of the proceeds from the games, donations and auction will be used to provide environmental retrofits for the winning bar in our Carrotmob competition.

    Saturday, September 19th, 2009
    Sign-in and get stamped to receive drink specials!!

    4pm-5:15pm: Doc's Clock - 2575 Mission Street (between 21st & 22nd St)
    $2 Anderson Valley Summer Solstice and Hop Ottin IPA
    $3 Anderson Valley Boont on draft

    4pm Begin sustainable scavenger hunt
    4:15pm-4:45pm Eco-trivia (clues can be bought from the people in green sunglasses)

    5:30pm-6:45pm: Casanova - 527 Valencia St. (between 16th & 17th St)
    $2.50 Pints of Trumer Pils, Pyramid, Fat Tire, Sierra, Racer 5, Anchor Steam

    6:15pm Green auction - win green products or services!

    7pm-8pm: Elixir - 3200 16th St (corner with Guerrero)
    $2 off any cocktail with or shot of an organic spirit base
    $1 off organic ales
    $1 off organic wines

    7:30pm End sustainable scavenger hunt - find the people in green sunglasses to give them your answers.

    8pm Announce winners!!

  • 2. Why are we doing this pub crawl?

    Green & Tonic organized this event to...

    1. Reward the hard-working bars choosing to be green.
    2. Raise money to help another bar go green on October 24th in conjunction with Carrotmob and 350.org.
    3. Educate customers on how to drink green.
    4. Provide a market for green (local, organic, and/or sustainable) beers and spirits.

    Our mission is to grow a dynamic ecosystem that unites green bars, green beverages, and green drinkers.

  • 3. How are we making this event zero waste?

    * Material is printed on recycled or scrap paper
    * Easy access to recycle bins - we will keep track of how much material we recycle from this event
    * Recycled table cloths - found at Thrift Town in the Mission
    * Recycled or eco-friendly pens used
    * Anything we give you can either be recycled or composted
    * Sidewalk posters are printed on FSC certified and recycled materials
    * Our business cards are stamps - we can use scrap paper, leaves, your forehead - you get the idea.

  • 4. What you can do to help at the event:

    * Sign-in and get stamped to start enjoying green drink specials!
    * Sign our petition to get a discernible green band across the compostable straws so that they are not thrown in the trash
    * If you need to compost please ask the bartenders (nicely of course)
