    Building Better Business Models by renowned author John Mullins

    Drawing on a case study of a remarkable telecom start-up in Sub-Saharan Africa, this talk explores a new way to think about and develop breakthrough business models. In doing so, it debunks the "form-filling", spreadsheet-driven mentality that characterizes so much of today's business planning, and offers a systematic approach to developing business models that can revolutionize their industries.

    John's trade book, The New Business Road Test: What Entrepreneurs and Executives Should Do Before Writing a Business Plan (2e, London: Prentice-Hall/FT 2006), is the definitive work on the assessment and shaping of market opportunities. His new book, Getting to Plan B: Breaking Through to a Better Business Model, co-authored with Randy Komisar, a partner at venture capital firm Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield, & Byers in California was published in September 2009.
