1. University of Edinburgh Funding and Mentoring Experts to Present Tonight
Are you confused about how best to seek money, legal advice, office space and more for your new business? Would you like to meet some of the students that have benefited from these programs? This event should be of great interest to any new student who would like to find out more about the entrepreneurship opportunities available through the university, whether in terms of a dissertation topic, an informal project or advice and support for a start-up company.

2. The Silicon Valley Speaker Series Begins Next Week with Stanford's Prof. Jeff Ullmann

The first Silicon Valley Speaker Series talk is by Dr. Jeffrey Ullman, an Emeritus Professor at Stanford University. He provides a behind-the-scenes look at the beginnings of Google, what happened, who played what roles, what impediments were overcome, and what role did the Stanford community play in facilitating the growth of Google.
Ullmann is known globally not only for his prolific success as a computer scientist, but also as the PhD Supervisor to the co-founders of Google, Larry Page and Sergey Brin. He has served on the technical advisory board of Google since its founding.
3. Social Entrepreneurship Club Presents Tuesday, October 6.

4. The Archangel Speaker Series Begins with "Angel Investing In Scotland"

Barry and Peter will explain the role of business angels in supporting young companies, both through investment and practical support. They will also explain how angel investing works and what steps entrepreneurs need to take to secure investment. They will compare angel investment with other sources of finance, highlighting the potential benefits of different approaches. They will also demonstrate the significance that the angel movement has in the Scottish and UK economies.
