Educators looking for creative new ideas for their programs ... anywhere from elementary to adult entrepreneurship experiences ... will want to put November 12 - 16, 2010 on your calendars to join us for the professional development conference of the year at the Hyatt on Capitol Square....Columbus, Ohio.

    We have just announced the presenters for the 56 CONCURRENT SESSIONS and 26 ROUNDTABLES ... a fabulous array of ideas and expertise shared by entrepreneurship educators from all parts of the US.

  • 2. NFIB-YEF HONORS OUTSTANDING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

    Congratulations to the 141 high school graduates who were just awarded college scholarships by The National Federation of Independent Business Young Entrepreneur Foundation. See the announcement of the 2010 recipients of the eighth annual NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards, a scholarship program designed to reward and encourage entrepreneurial talents among high school students.     The NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award recipients will attend the university, college, community college or vocational/technical institute of their choice with $1,000-$10,000 in tuition assistance from the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation. This year’s major corporate sponsors are Visa, Inc. and Sam’s Club.

    The NFIB Young Entrepreneur program was established to raise awareness among the nation's youth of the critical role that private enterprise and entrepreneurship play in the building of America. Since 2003, the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation has awarded 2,095 scholarships to graduating high school seniors totaling $2,382,000.

    Summer of Content 2010: Do you have an instructional unit you’re proud of that you’d like to publish and get paid for? Interested in earning money this summer to develop a new unit that will be shared with a global audience? For the third annual Summer of Content effort, Curriki is soliciting premium learning materials for Grades 6–12 in science, math, and ELL/ESL. Awards will be granted to units that include a collection of robust materials for students. Apply by June 25, 2010.

    We will share the report later this summer, but for now it is interesting to know that no one said the new electronic version of Future CEO Stars was difficult to use. Congratulations to Chip Lowe of CWD, our student technical expert who designed all of our online resources this year. And of almost 100 respondents, two thirds are teachers and one-third are administrators.

  • 5. HAVE A GREAT SUMMER . . .

    For those of you soon off to a summer of peace and quiet...have a great one. And for the rest of us who are still pursuing initiatives and opportunities to help our students and maximize our services in support of entrepreneurship education, we will still be here and hard at it!
