Recognizing how busy educators are in the opening of school, the Norfolk Waterside Marriott Hotel has extended the deadline for reservations at their special conference rate until Monday, October 26, 2009.
The conference is looking great for all of you interested in new ideas for entrepreneurship education at any level of the school system. We even include strategies for helping the unemployed ...as well as a session with foundation leaders on finding support for your program.
For those of you who have asked me, we do accept reservations for the FORUM anytime before the conference....it just helps if you get it to us before the last minute. And we ask that all reservations be pre-paid.
Whether it is your registration form for the conference, your decision to join the Consortium, or any other products from the Consortium.....just go to the homepage and click on the PAY SITE. Then click on your chosen purchase. We accept online, secure, credit card payments with VISA, MasterCard, and Discover cards...or you can still send us a purchase order or check for orders placed online. You will receive a receipt online for all credit card purchases...immediately.

3. BE AN ENTREPRENEURSHIP "GENIUS" !!!!
Start planning now for all kinds of activities in your classrooms, school-wide, or community to have everyone see if they can answer the "20 Questions for All Americans". Check out the newly released promotion for National Entrepreneurship Week at http://www.nationaleweek.org
See if you can answer these 20 basic questions taught in all entrepreneurship classes....the foundation on which all of our activities and experiences are built. Think about how your students could do some interesting things with students in younger grades, all students in the school, entrepreneurs in the community, or even their parents!
Download the "GENIUS" Certificate and make a formal presentation to anyone who earns it. You are the presenter!
USE THIS DEMONSTRATION OF "20 Questions for All Americans" !
Ask your local media to participate in events that demonstrate what the audience knows about the "free enterprise" system. It could be very interesting to show off what your students know versus the local community leaders. Now, more than ever we have to be sure that the US entrepreneurial advantage is well-known to all Americans and our entrepreneurs are toasted as the major source of the American economic success.
EACH STATE CAN BECOME A STAR ON THE NATIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK WEBSITE!
This year we are featuring the US map on our homepage with clickable state pages where you can learn about every state's events and resources. We ask each of you to send articles and pictures to your state team leader about your entrepreneurship activities YEAR ROUND that could be featured on your state page starting right now. If your state coordinator has the information they know how to get it posted on our National Entrepreneurship Week homepage.
For examples...check out Delaware...Nebraska....and Georgia. Remember that it takes 50 states to make an "entrepreneurial nation"....and we sure need one right now!

4. THE US CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IS "SINGING OUR TUNE"!
Let's show our support for America's entrepreneurs by signing on to the US Chamber of Commerce's newly released campaign to create 20 million new jobs in the next decade starting today, October 14.
According to Thomas Donohue, Chamber President, "I am excited to share with you the news of a historic Campaign for Free Enterprise that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is launching today."
"The American Free Enterprise. Dream Big campaign is one of the most important and necessary initiatives in the Chamber's nearly 100-year history. As a nation, we face major policy challenges--but none greater or more important than reviving the economy, restoring the 7 million jobs lost to the current recession, and creating the 13 million more jobs that will be needed over the next decade. "
Go to their site and read more about this challenge. Everyone can sign on ...NO COST involved. I already signed on and you can too! http://www.freeenterpriseamerica.com/
HOPE TO SEE YOU IN NORFOLK ...November 7 - 10, 2009
Cheers,
