It is time to begin planning for the selection of an outstanding entrepreneur for the National Honor Roll of Entrepreneurs. Starting with National Entrepreneurship Week 2011, your local program will be featured on the national website as the sponsor of this outstanding entrepreneur from "Your Hometown, USA".
Submit your nominee to us as soon as January 1, and we will begin posting each entrepreneur's story as a link to the National Entrepreneurship Week website. You will want to have your Entrepreneur on the list of states linked to the website homepage. The goal is to have lots of entrepreneurs nominated from your state!
Find lots of ideas and resources to use in planning your celebration of the 5th annual NATIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK, February 19 - 26, 2011, on our special website at http://www.entre-week.org. Let us know what else you need that we can provide for everyone on this site.

2. PUBLICITY IDEA FOR YOUR ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM!
STUDENT ACTIVITY .... Compete for the BEST Media Release supporting your Entrepreneur!
Once you have nominated your outstanding entrepreneur we have a suggested activity for your students. Think about the value of a media release contest among your students....one that could get interest from the press for your top submissions. If you wish to do this we will link the winning media release(s) to the Honor Roll nomination from your organization. . . . Just another idea to encourage people to know your program exists and get the media curious about what you are teaching about entrepreneurship!
ENTREPRENEURS....Living the AMERICAN DREAM! Student Instructions:
• Identify the leadership assets and unique learning experiences exemplified by your local outstanding entrepreneur ... for ideas look at the "20 Questions for All Americans"
• Create a 100 word (maximum) media release that illustrates the relationship between what you are learning in entrepreneurship education and one or more of the personal assets of your outstanding entrepreneur.
• Instructor assembles a panel of judges...possibly, parents, teachers, advisory committee, etc. to pick the top submissions. The panel might also find some type of prizes to award.
• Announcement of winners should be tied to National Entrepreneurship Week activities with the goal of getting local press coverage.
• Send the winning media release(s) to the Consortium to be posted with your Local Entrepreneur Nomination on http://www.entre-week.org.

We ask that each of you download the 15-page product, review it as a teacher training model, and consider it as a vehicle for teaching students as well.
THEN LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK. Remember it is still a draft.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE between PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING and Project-Based Learning?
The Think Tank Meeting focused on a format for creating Problem-based Learning Initiatives that encourage students to find the answers. Based on the National Content Standards for Entrepreneurship this format can be found with the stories in Future CEO Stars (the Consortium student entrepreneur magazine) and the Instructor Guide that goes with it. http://www.fcsmag.com/
Learn more about "On Your MARK, Get READY, Get SET, GO....the race to the FINISH LINE with the Think Tank Handout. You may download the materials shared to use for your programs: The 4th "R" ... Real Life Learning via Problem Based Learning - Handout http://www.entre-ed.org/_network/problem-based.pdf Also available online is a companion PowerPoint.
INSTRUCTORS... Let us help you find sponsorship to attend the conference in Cincinnati, OH, November 2011!
Guarantee your own scholarship by sharing your entrepreneurship program with business service groups in your home town. Ask the local Rotary, Kiwanis, Chamber, Lions, Church Groups, etc. who will appreciate having you make a presentation about the work you are doing to prepare the entrepreneurs of tomorrow in your classroom.
We invite you to consider becoming a Consortium member.
Check out the details at http://www.entre-ed.org/_contact/index.htm We treat our members with extra opportunities and promotion because we are proud of their leadership in the field. Without our members there could be no Consortium encouraging the growth of "ENTREPRENEURSHIP EVERYWHERE". Do join us for 2011!
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and a Great Holiday Season, and a Wonderful Winter!
