    ** In 2008, there were 29.6 million businesses in the United States,

    AND

    ** 21.7 million of American businesses had NO employees (the latest available data 2007).

    ** Small firms with fewer than 500 employees represent 99.9 percent of the 29.6 million businesses (including both employers and non-employers), and as the most recent data show there were about 18,000 large businesses in 2006.

    ENTREPRENEURS ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF AMERICA!

    In every community, be it big city or small town, we recognize the importance of the men and women who create a business and employ the rest of us! Further, we recognize that many of them are having a hard time right now in this very unstable economy.

    So we are excited to be part of a new Initiative (created by Grasshopper Group LLC) to recognize our entrepreneurs in every community across the nation as a leading supporter of NATIONAL ENTREPRENEURS' DAY - November 19, 2010.

    We ask that each of you show your support for American entrepreneurs by signing the petition at http://www.entrepreneursday.org/entreweek to ask the President to proclaim November 19 as National Entrepreneurs' Day. Please do it right away....when enough of you sign on our National Entrepreneurship Week logo will be among the major supporters.

    We see this special day as part of the year-round celebration sponsored by National Entrepreneurship Week (and others) Your honored entrepreneurs will be featured by us at the 28th Annual Entrepreneurship FORUM November 12 - 16th as well as a major part of National Entrepreneurship Week, February 19 - 26, 2010.

    For those who have contacts with students this summer we want to point out a new Facebook feature designed to give vacationing students some constructive ideas for being entrepreneurial this summer. For any that have not found a job we want to encourage creative thinking to support their wishes for "spending money".
