How many of you know the rest of that chant...about sauerkraut! For those of you who have the liberty of a whole summer vacation we wish you a peaceful and profitable few months. We hope you will keep reading our emails to keep up with what is happening in entrepreneurship education.

For those hard at work all summer ...as we are... please send us news of your activities and pictures to post on our Entre-week.org website.

We plan to get smarter about social networking this summer and hope you will join us there too.

  • 2. FREE ENTERPRISE SUPPORTERS NEEDED

    Dear "Friends":

Are you maximizing the opportunity to demonstrate that Entrepreneurship Education provides skills and experiences that lead to student self-reliance and the growth of American Free Enterprise?

The Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education has provided leadership and resources nationwide for over 30 years, bringing this opportunity for all levels of education to be the visible champions for the growth of entrepreneurship education everywhere.

As an entrepreneurship education supporter I am contacting you to consider becoming a Consortium member for 2011-12. In this time of tight budgets WE NEED EVERY ENTREPRENEURSHIP BELIEVER to do YOUR part in providing support to enable the Consortium to continue to provide a clearinghouse for all educators. Resources are absolutely FREE for all educators online. It is the Consortium member organizations that have paid for the staff time, expenses, and creative ideas that have made continuing development of the field possible.

The Consortium has some great new ideas for expanding entrepreneurship to new educational groups and we hope you will want to be part of the action. We have not increased membership fees in the past 30+ years ...just have maximized the valuable support from so many member organizations.

Membership information is available online at http://www.entre-ed.org/_contact/index.htm. Please contact Cathy Ashmore to join or if you have any questions....cashmore@entre-ed.org; 614-486-6538

The entrepreneurs of tomorrow are in our schools today ... and all students deserve the chance to be ready.

  • 5. JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!

Last week we had the opportunity to participate in the U S Chamber of Commerce's 2011 Small Business: Putting America Back to Work http://www.uschambersummit.com It was exciting to see the enthusiastic participation of entrepreneurs from all over the US with the Chamber's focus on FREE ENTERPRISE.

We were especially pleased to represent the Consortium as a member of the newly formed Advisory Council for the Center for Entrepreneurship, initiated by the Chamber with their inaugural meeting as part of the small business national conference.

The YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP ALLIANCE is pleased to welcome the US Chamber Foundation as the latest new member of YEA. Watch for new resources coming soon from the Consortium and YEA.

WE ARE SO HAPPY TO SEE THE CHAMBER "SINGING OUR SONG"!

HAPPY SUMMER SUNSHINE TO ALL . . . WHEREVER YOU ARE!

    Cheers,
