  • 2. DFJ Cisco Global Business Plan Competition

Great News: The top two winners of Big Bang! (the first place team by judges' decision and the winner of the People’s Choice Award) are welcome to enter the DFJ Cisco Global Business Plan Competition. If either of these teams is unable to take part in the Cisco competition, the second place team, as decided by the judges, will be invited to apply. The prize money up for grabs for this competition is at least US$250,000.

The teams will not be going to Santa Clara to pitch their ideas; rather, they will be doing all their presentation from CISCO telepresence systems. The Center for Entrepreneurship will provide the call setup.

The DFJ-CISCO Global Business Plan Competition offers an opportunity for aspiring student entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to a team of leading venture capitalists and corporate investors.

The DFJ-CISCO Global Business Plan Competition includes participants from universities around the globe in regions covered by the DFJ Global Network (together with Draper Fisher Jurvetson Fund IX Management Company LLC and its affiliates, “DFJ”), and Cisco Systems, Inc. (together with its affiliates, “Cisco”). Local DFJ funds and Cisco will review student business plans from their region, including any official university competition winners. Based on the quality and diversity of teams applying from each university, it is possible that there may be more than one team selected for a given university or region. It is anticipated that 14 teams will be selected as Finalists for a winner-take-all investment of at least US$250,000 in seed stage funding.
