    * Updates

    > Startup 101 Fair

    Startup 101 was a huge success; we had a total of 70 startups, and student turnout was excellent with an estimated attendance of 1000! Employer comments have all been positive and one employer even mentioned that in hour and a half, he met more qualified students than he did the whole day at Berkeley.

  • 6. Community Development

    * Mentorship

    - Date / Venue: TBA ASAP

    - BASES will be holding its annual Mentorship event early Spring Quarter. At this event, we will match mentors (BASES alumni and Silicon Valley entrepreneurs) to current BASES executives and officers. The mentor-mentee pairs will be matched depending on preferences by the mentee. We want to provide knowledgeable mentors who have experiences that align with the BASES mentees' goals.

    * EHorizons

    - The Stanford eHorizons Program is a structured initiative that teaches students about each step of the entrepreneurial process. Participants will tour top Silicon Valley start-ups along with venture capital firms and incubators in specific industrial/technological areas that will give students access to industry professionals, emerging technologies, and start-up companies. This is a two quarter program (Winter and Spring) and initial focuses will be in Biotech and Cleantech.

    • Visits this quarter:

    • YCombinator
    • Clean Cell International
    • Maquet Vascular
    • Institutional Venture Partners
    • Trilliant
    • Zeachem

    * E-Mixers

    - The Stanford eMixers is a quarterly mixer held at the 750 (GCC) bringing Stanford entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs together at a casual and convenient location on campus to hang out, meet each other, find teammates, and share ideas. At each eMixer, we will have local entrepreneurs guest speak at the event followed by Q&A and finishing with the mixer.

    • Previous speakers at the first eMixers were: Sean Knapp and Belsasar Lepe, Stanford graduates and founders of a video technology company called Oyala, came to speak and share their experiences.
